Surfrider Sunglasses The technology for Optic Edge mirrored lenses was initially developed by NASA for use by astronauts in the United States space program. Rather than absorb light like typical colored lenses, Optic Edge's premium nuvo green, fire orange or red mirrors actually reflect light, which keeps your field of vision bright. All Optic Edge lenses have iridescent multilayer coatings that fine-tune light to optimize visual acuity. These coatings allow water beading to make cleaning easier and to increase scratch resistance. Optic Edge sunglasses are made of shatter-resistant polycarbonate lenses that block the harmful ultraviolet rays that cause eye damage, cancer and aging. They also manage short-wave blue light to eliminate haze, and reduce invisible IR light for extra protection and comfort. Optic Edge frames feature soft, moveable nose pads and special temples featuring the Optic Edge logo.
